Our story
2015
Yayoi "Rebecca" Kobayashi formed a choir and started to sing for the First Saturday Vigil Mass at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Perth. She also organised meals for her street friends with the help of the choir members.

2018
The Holy Spirit Choir (HSC) was established and extended the choir singing at St. Emilie De Vialar Catholic Church in Canning Vale, Perth.
HSC extended its ministry in Cebu City, Philippines.

2019
Father Jeronimo added "and Street Ministry" and the name was changed to Holy Spirit Choir and Street Ministry.

14th July 2019
The Holy Spirit Choir and Street Ministry (HSCASM) was registered as a not-for-profit charity organisation with Emeritus Archbishop Barry Hickey as the Spiritual Advisor.

The heart of the Holy Spirit Choir and Street Ministry is to be with Jesus wherever he is. We look for him outside the camp, at the margins where Jesus loved to be, with those who struggle.
In the letter to the Hebrews we read:
Jesus died outside the camp, outside the city walls. Let us go there to meet him and suffer with him. (Hebrews 13:13)​
I am honoured to be with the Street Ministry when I can. I ask people of good will to join me. I celebrate chant Mass as well, where Jesus is also present, hidden under the veils of bread and wine. He is the heart of all that we do.
