With the loving inspiration of the Holy Spirit to guide us, the HSCASM Cebu Mission Trip,

held from 28 May to 6 June 2026, was a meaningful journey of faith, service, friendship, and

bringing Christ’s love to communities in need.

Volunteers from Perth and Singapore joined the HSCASM Cebu team to support underpriveleged children, reach out to homeless families, strengthen their Catholic faith, and explore sustainable ways to help families living in poverty.

The team distributed food and essential supplies to vulnerable families and people living under bridges, while also spending time listening, praying, and sharing fellowship with those they met.

HSCASM volunteers from Perth and Cebu prepared food for street feeding and disributed school supplies.

A special highlight was working with our youth members through rosary-making, prayer, and faith sharing. The children learned new skills that may also provide future livelihood opportunities, while strengthening relationships with their sponsors and the wider HSCASM community.

Rebecca Kobayashi, Director of HSCASM.

Our ministry days began with prayer and worship, and, through a formation session given by Dan Hewitt. Dan presented an inspiring formation session on what it means to be a Catholic

in today’s world. His presentation focused on living the Catholic faith authentically, interacting respectfully with others, and embracing the responsibilities of Christian discipleship. The mission also strengthened the bonds between the Perth, Singapore, and Cebu teams through fellowship and shared faith.

A spiritual gathering held every week, preparing our hearts and minds for the works of mercy.

Plans were also developed to support HSCASM Cebu’s future, including improved transportation, administrative assistance, expanded rosary-making training, and livelihood projects such as vegetable farming.

HSCASM Cebu began a vegetable garden with the help of our dedicated youth members.

The mission reminded everyone that beyond food and practical support, love, friendship, encouragement, and faith can bring lasting hope and dignity.

We thank God for His guidance and blessings, and the HSCASM Cebu team for their warm hospitality and faithful service.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” – Matthew 25:40
