HSCASM FEEDING PROGRAM IN CEBU CITY

While many people believe that feeding the homeless is bad because it encourages more homelessness, and in doing so society teaches the homeless to rely on free handouts, feeding the homeless is important because it is the right thing to do. It is also important because many of the homeless lack the means to feed themselves.

Saint Teresa of Calcutta reminded us "At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by "I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in." (Matthew 25;35-45)

Most families living in makeshift houses, built on land they do not own, struggle to survive in the slum areas of Cebu City, as most are unskilled workers who were not able to finish their education.
